Stop, Swap, & Roll

I am so excited to be a part of the Stop, Swap, and Roll linky hosted by Melissa at Jungle Learners. Thank you so much for all of your hard work in making this fun link happen. I am so happy to be a part of it for the very first time.

I have been paired up with K’s Classroom Kreations for this awesome product swap. Here are some fun facts about her. She's been a first grade teacher for 7 years and has a certification in elementary, special ed, and as a reading specialist. She has an obsession with children's books, organizing, and finding good deals. When she is not busy working on TPT or work, she loves to be crafty and make cards. She is a North Carolina teacher, originally from Rhode Island, and she loves the ocean and the color blue.
I was lucky enough to be able to scour her Teachers Pay Teachers store for a product of choice. Since summer is almost here, I thought what better product to choose than one about oceans. If you are not following her on TpT, then you should go check her out now. Her store is great and she has great resources that you can start using in your store immediately.

Oceans of Learning is a 92 page document filled with literacy and math activities, centers, and ideas. You can do this unit either spread out over an ocean/beach themed week or have a special Ocean/beach day to celebrate the end of the year.

LITERACY ACTIVITIES AND CENTERS

WRITE & DRAW
There are 8 writing pages that each have a different prompt for students to complete. This would be a great addition to your writing centers during your ocean themed extravaganza. The prompts are a perfect way for the students to use their imagination and come up with what will happen next.

INFORMATIONAL OCEAN ANIMAL WRITING
This section has six different ocean animal options for students to complete a graphic organizer and report on their chosen animal. Research papers can be hard with the littles and this product will definitely help make your life a little bit easier.

FACT & OPINION MOVEMENT GAME
Students can read fun facts about the ocean and decide whether or not the statement is a fact or an opinion.

MATH ACTIVITIES AND CENTERS

WHAT A CATCH!
This will be a fun activity that students will love! Students will grab a handful of goldfish (or cut out fish like shown in the picture) and count how many they grabbed. They will then get to use the activity mat to create an addition problem. Students can write their answers on the included recording sheet.

SEQUENCING SHELLS
Students can practice ordering four numbers from least to greatest and greatest to least using cute numbered shells.

TRUE AND FALSE TURTLES
Students will decide whether or not the equation is correct and place it with the correct turtle. Like with most of her centers, there is a page for students to document their work which is a nice thing to have since you are unable to be next to every student as they complete their center.

In addition to the products that have been shown, there are some other great centers, worksheets, bulletin board ideas, an ocean themed snack, and more.

Five for Friday

Here we are again for another Five for Friday hosted by the fabulous Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching. I have said this before, but I LOVE this linky. I have been beyond horrible about finding the time to blog lately, so I can always count on this to be how I get at least one post in. I have several planned for this coming week and will try to get better beyond that too!

This week I have been busy working on writing up a product review for the Stop, Swap, and Roll Product Swap hosted by Melissa Johnson at Jungle Learners. She is amazing for all of the work that she has put into this and I am so excited for it to kick off THIS SATURDAY! I have been teamed up with K’s Classroom Kreations. We each got to choose a product from each other’s store and will be sharing it with you. We will also have a giveaway for that product. She chose “My Science Journal and Notebook’. It will be 20% off the entire time the giveaway is running. Again, check back on my blog and K’s Classroom Creation’s blog first thing Saturday morning to see both products in detail and for a chance to win each one.

Are you a teacher turned SAHM that has a TpT store? Are you a consultant or tutor that does TpT full-time? Would you like to be either of these at some point in the near future? Join me and Mrs. Jones Creation Station for lunch at the Grand Luxe CafĂ© at the Venetian to meet some awesome TpT Authors! Click {here} to RSVP.

Along the same lines, we started a Facebook group. It will be a place for WAHM on TpT to be able to network and connect. Our vision is that this will be a place of encouragement, advice, and support as we learn to juggle staying at home and TpT’ing. Click {here} to join.

I am kind of embarrassed about this one, but if I did not know, I am sure someone else out there did not know either so I am going to share. I always used Primo PDF or Cute PDF to 'secure' my documents. I honestly thought since they were saved in PDF format, they would be fine, BUT that is unfortunately not the case. People can easily extract your hard work. After talking with several people, I ended up going with Adobe Pro. Most of the people I spoke to have Adobe Pro IX, however, there is a newer version called Adobe Pro DC. If you are a teacher or student you can get it for a SUPER discounted price. {Here} is where I ended up buying it from. I have been busy the last few days or so re-saving every product with a password to protect all of my hard work.

Have you seen this picture before? This is me to a ‘T’ and this is why I never get anything crossed off my list. I have a ridiculously long list of things I NEED to do, but in the process of checking off those things, I think of other really cool ideas and get side tracked. Maybe one day I will have my to-do list somewhat tackled. It is a good thing I LOVE doing all of this. :)

One of my best friends had her baby shower on Saturday. I was lucky enough to host this with her sister. It was so much fun to love on Melissa and celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Luke. Here are some of the pictures from the event.

I hope you enjoyed what has been going on during my week. Don't forget to message me your TpT FREEBIE URL to my Facebook so I can add your product to my page for my daily FREEBIE at 4:00 PM. Click {here} to go back to Kelsey's post and see what all the other amazing teachers are up to.

Five for Friday

I am linking up once again with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday Linky Party.

I have been busy trying to update products and I have a few new ones that have been uploaded this week. I will be going into detail about each one in the upcoming weeks, but you can see snippets of each one here. If you click on the picture, it will take you directly to the product in my TpT Store or you can check them out at each of my stores: Teachers Pay TeachersTeacher's Notebook, and Educents. Please follow me while you are there. :)

I ordered an Erin Condren planner about a week ago and it came in this week. {happy dance} We got my mom one for Christmas and I have several friends that have them and everyone I know absolutely loves their planner. I had been trying to decide if I should get one or not since it was so late in the year, but they were on sale and I KNEW it was a sign. She is so smart. From the branding of the box to the cute paper and sticker it comes wrapped it. It only adds to the amazing experience. I am so hoping that this will be a great tool to help me get everything for ‘A Dab of Glue Will Do’ organized into one place. Her stuff is amazing and I cannot wait to use it.

We spent the majority of the week down in San AntonioTexas. My husband had a conference there Monday through Wednesday so we went down early Saturday and stayed through the conference. My mom came along too which was nice because I had someone to hang out with during the day and it was fun to reminiscence on all the good memories we had from going to San Antonio when I was a kid. The river walk is such a beautiful area and you cannot go wrong with the margaritas. They are some of the best I have ever had. We had a great time, but it was so nice to get back home. Traveling with two little kids is quite an experience and to-do. I am not sure if we will travel again as a family for the next four years :)

We walked all over the river walk. We brought out double Bob and our Chicco Snap and Go, but we were worried our double Bob would be too big. Prior to leaving I ordered a buggy board for the snap and go, hoping Molly might like it. It was not cheap and I was not sure if Molly would even like it, but it turned out to be amazing. I definitely recommend purchasing one if you have multiple kids.

My husband and I celebrated our sixth year anniversary over the weekend. We went to Bohanans when we were in San Antonio to celebrate and it was fantastic! I cannot believe that it has been six years already. We met online while living in Florida. He just moved to the states from England and I had just been living in Miami for a couple of months. We both joined a dating website that had a free three day trial and met during those three days. We talked for several weeks through email and phone conversations and finally met in person at Starbucks. Long story short, we got engaged, got married at the court house a few days later (on Valentine’s Day), and then got married on April 11 in front of all of our family and friends. It was the best day ever. We had friends and family from all over the world and it far exceeded everything I ever dreamed of. I have been beyond blessed to marry my husband. He is my rock, my best friend, my number one fan, and has a hot British accent. What is not to love?! He makes me strive to be a better person every single day and I am forever grateful for that. Doing life with him is grand.

Our 7th Inning Stretch Giveaway ended on Sunday night. @mookerdoodles and @mrsplemonskindergarten were the two lucky winners of a $150 Target gift card. This has been such an amazing experience for me. I was lucky enough to meet some incredible people/teachers/bloggers/TpTers. I have met some great blogging friends and we have created our own little community of support, encouragement, and advice. I did this giveaway to try and increase my followers and never did I imagine I would quickly become a part of such a great group of women. It has been so refreshing.

Well that is a wrap for this week. Thanks for stopping back and checking out what I have been up to. Don't forget to follow me Facebook and email me a FREEBIE from your store or blog so I can add it to my Daily FREEBIE at 4:00 PM on my Facebook page. I hope that you had a great week and that you enjoy your weekend.

Five for Friday

This week has been a bit of a blur. I am not quite sure where it went. The weekend was so busy with Easter festivities that I feel like this week has been all catch up. The good news, however, is that today is Friday and we are headed for a little family getaway tomorrow morning!

The 7th Inning Stretch Giveaway on Instagram has officially begun! There are TWO Target gift cards valued at $150 if you complete both loops participating. You can go to my Instagram @adabofgluewilldo for more information on how YOU can be one of the lucky winners. The giveaway will run until 9:00 PM this Sunday, April 12, 2015.

So I am trying something new on Facebook for the month of April to try and bring in more traffic to my page. I am scheduling several posts throughout the day on all different kinds of topics. Each day I will post a cool FREEBIE from a Teachers Pay Teachers store (or similar site) at 4:00 PM.  If you would like me to use one of your FREEBIES from your store please send me a message on Facebook (OR email me) the link to the product you would like me to post on my FREEBIE posts. What are some things that you have done to increase traffic to your Facebook page?
Mother’s Day is right around the corner so I really wanted to get a craftivity uploaded stat so teachers can have something under their sleeve for the big day. I love this craft because it allows students to personalize everything for their very own mother. You can purchase this at my TpT store
We had such a good Easter weekend. We spent Saturday at an Easter celebration bash with friends out on the lake. They had an Easter egg hunt, pony rides, a petting zoo, a sand box, music, and food trucks. It was a gorgeous day and Molly had a blast. Her favorite part was the sand box. She is still talking about it almost a week later. Sunday we went to church and had family festivities all afternoon.

I got my first manicure since having Charlotte (four months ago – so overdue) and started reading Girl Talk by Jen Hatmaker for a book study that I am participating in with several other teachers/bloggers. The manicure was amazing, but having some time to turn my brain off and relax was even more amazing. I must definitely try and fit that into my schedule regularly. I am really excited about this book study that Kreative in Kinder and Fourth Grade Frolics are hosting. We just started on Thursday so if you are interested in joining, you should order the book and send one of them a Facebook message so you can be added to their Facebook page.

I hope that everyone has such a great weekend and week ahead and see you again next Friday!
